Soft Tissue Therapy
Soft Tissue Therapy involves the assessment and treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia to aid recovery from musculoskeletal issues caused by injury, posture or movement.
Rather than just treating the symptoms of pain or restriction the focus is on identifying the cause, to enable more tailored treatment and advice to be given. This better relieves pain, reduces recovery time and restores strength and flexibility to resolve the issue and prevent it reoccuring.
The initial session includes a brief consultation to take a medical history and a detailed account of the problem you are experiencing with consideration given to other factors such as daily acitvities like work, sport or exercise. This may include a postural assessment. This usually takes around 15 minutes and is on top of the treatment time.
Treatment is then given using hands on techniques including:
Massage
Deep/Sports Massage
Neuromuscular Technique
Muscle Energy Technique
Soft Tissue Release
Positional Release
Myofascial Release
At the end of the session you will be given a treatment plan with adivce on exercises and stretches you can do at home..
